Johnny Test 2021 Hindi Dubbed Netflix Session 1 Review: Funniest Johnny Test Yet |
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we last saw Johnny Test, but Netflix has finally given him his own show. The first episode of Johnny Test 2021 is titled “Johnny in the Future” and it starts off with a bang. Johnny has taken over the world, and it’s now 20 years in the future.
Johnny Test is back and it’s better than ever! I am an avid Johnny Test watcher and this show never disappoints. Of course, I wasn’t going to miss the new Netflix release! In this episode, Johnny’s parents are going away for a few days for work.
So he and Dukey go to stay with his grandparents – Johnny’s evil, rich grandparents (the kind of grandparents who give you a new phone and car for your birthday).
Johnny’s grandparents are the perfect exaggerated version of the grandparents you may know that are just a tad too involved in their grandkids’ lives. Johnny Test is what Netflix has been missing since the last season of Full House.
The new Netflix series Johnny Test is a reboot of the original cartoon. I’m going to do a full episode by episode review of the series as it airs on Netflix and I will be reviewing the first episode of season 1 here.
The episode begins with Johnny and his sisters sitting on the couch watching TV. Johnny is bored and his sisters tell him to make himself useful. Johnny then comes up with an idea for a new show called ‘Johnny Test: The New Adventures’.
Johnny Test is a cartoon about a genius, young boy who has a lab in his bedroom and a talking dog named Dukey. In this review, I will be reviewing Netflix's first episode of the new Johnny Test season, and give you my opinion of it. I'll be rating it on a scale of one to five stars, with five being the best. This show is rated TV-PG.

Netflix Johnny Test Session 1 Review
As the Netflix series "Johnny Test" approaches its second year of releases, we decided to catch up on the new episodes released this year. In total, the series has had 20 episodes (three of which are currently streaming) and so far, this year has produced a slightly more funny story arc.
However, the series’ comedic elements are still found in small parts. While the humor is still present, the series is not as funny as it was when it first began. Johnny Test, the main character of the series, was first introduced in the first season and developed into a humorous, everyday average boy of his own.
This time, we see Johnny being thrust into a host of comical situations involving his very well-endowed sister Josie, who really has no reason to work with her brother in her experiments.
The Adventures of Johnny Test
Netflix’s family-friendly series “The Adventures of Johnny Test” has been brought back for its second season (it’s also currently airing on Cartoon Network) and by far, it’s the best season yet.
The series, based on the USA Network program of the same name from the late 1990s, is a test, in many ways, of how well a family-friendly animated series can situate itself in its own time and place.
This season, Johnny is now a full-fledged high school student, the twin sisters are college graduates and both have kids of their own. If the original show was an American Daffy Duck cartoon — or rather, one who could never be caught in a moment of insignificance — it’s much harder to do in the early 2020s.
What is Johnny Test?
Though not the most original concept in the world, the long-running Johnny Test adventure game series from Housemarque stands out as one of the best examples of its genre for fans of silly slapstick comedy.
Its latest adventure, “Johnny Test 2021,” is the latest in the series, though it’s the second to take place in the 21st century. The entire second game in the series, 2015’s “Johnny Test: Global Adventure,” is currently available on Steam for PC and has recently been ported to consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with an iOS version coming later this year.
What is Johnny Test? The original Johnny Test first made its way onto Sega Genesis in 1998, developed by TATSUMO and published by Sega for release in Japan.
Johnny Test's Plot
The plot begins innocently enough. You see, Johnny (Mike Kennedy) is an average suburban boy in his twenties who lives in a neighborhood called Johnson Town. He has a sister named Kathy (Kelly Hu) and a twin sister named Cheetah (Aislinn Paul).
Kathy has recently gone on a trip to Africa, where her brother can go with her. When he arrives, he's immediately greeted by his sister who has her hands full with another caretaker, Dr. Acroyd (Gilles Marini) and a new staff member, Dr. Natasha (Danaya Esperanza).
She's a bit odd, and only played for laughs, since she's an angry Slavic. What's strange is that they tell him he's the Johnno Test. Johnny gets put through a series of tests by his sister and Dr. Natasha to prove his identity as Johnny Test, the ultimate Johnny Test.
What's New in the Latest Season?
This new Netflix Session is part of a never-ending comedy genre, the hero cop spoof. The videos in this genre focus on everyday people doing hilarious, but inadvisable (or, sometimes, legally defensible) things, often with a cop (or in this case, someone pretending to be a cop) as a co-star.
The silliness usually follows a pattern, with hilarious results. In Johnny Test, they follow a recognizable pattern, but the first episode in this Netflix Session is much more of a spoof of the genre than a straight parody, focusing on a show in which actors routinely provide the voices of actual cops. While this only makes the first episode more tolerable, it's still pretty annoying at times.
Background
"We thought it'd be funny to do a show about somebody who's a dork and thinks he's cool," comedy writer Ben Garant told Indiewire when Netflix approached him with the idea for a Johnny Test animated series.
The search for a showrunner landed on Alex Hirsch, a former Disney writer and writer/producer for the ABC animated hit Gravity Falls. That turned out to be a good fit as the first two episodes released on Netflix Friday find Johnny Test coming to grips with the fact that he is really a dork.
Johnny Test Gets His Groove Back in Netflix's Debut Johnny Test Gets His Groove Back The first episode picks up where Johnny Test ended, after he was mistakenly thought dead by the rogue heroes He-Man and She-Ra (voiced by singer/actor Ralph Garman and comedy actress Maurice LaMarche).
Plot
Johnny and his twin sister Julie are back to test "extreme knowledge" once again, where one of them will eventually die. But of course, nothing ever goes as planned. In their current test, they are testing a "wisdom sensor" which will help Johnny solve his own personal dilemma about whether or not he is an evil genius or not.
The logic behind this test seems a bit far-fetched, considering Johnny seems a bit much of a loner and, as his twin says, no one ever cares about his opinions. The entire test, including the material provided, seems a little dated (though the overall comedic elements are not).
But that's what makes it all so fun. Everything about "Johnny Test" is so delightfully ridiculous.
Characters
“Well I never! What about a trip down to Piscataqua? You know where the big fish take a bath. I haven't been there since I was a little kid. You should bring me along.” “Oh, I love that part of the state! It’s so calming. You should bring me along with you guys.”
The Characters of Johnny Test Johnny Test. A boy in his early teens. Abused by his father, at the tender age of 10 years, he developed an appetite for chemistry. Now he uses it to acquire power over the people around him, and to push himself to top marks in his school’s classes.
One of his uncles died in an accident caused by chemicals that he was mixing in a failed experiment. His father put a curse on the family to prevent the same from happening to any of them again.
Quirky Johnny Test Moments
Surprise: At Netflix’s Johnny Test panel at this year’s SXSW Festival, creator Toby Ascher didn’t deliver a new trailer for the Netflix series. (He said the first trailer received over 30 million views, which makes sense given its popularity, but also means Netflix spent way too much money on this small wonder.)
Instead, Ascher and his team – which includes his longtime collaborator and frequent Johnny Test collaborator David Zuckerman, now an executive producer – revealed seven more Johnny Test shorts, along with a really delightful surprise:
Johnny Test 2021, an extremely well-made game that may be a precursor to an official Netflix series. The short, which will be released this Friday, March 30, will feature A.J.

Conclusion
Netflix has invested a lot of time and effort into their children's programming, creating successful platforms like "Caillou" and "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan" to celebrate diversity and fun for kids.
Now they're getting serious with "Johnny Test," their most ambitious undertaking yet. From the title, you get a sense that this will be their next "Dragon Tales," but it's a far cry from it.
The series has its ups and downs but I believe the episodes that demonstrate its most captivating elements do indeed carry the best quality. I'd give it a strong 7 out of 10.
The series is an acquired taste and its comedy is so light that it's hard to imagine how intense the storyline can become. But after experiencing several episodes, I can confirm it's a quality series that's well worth checking out.
