Rangasthalam (2021) Hindi Dubbed Movie Review: A Masterful Piece Of Cinema

It opened to positive reviews from critics, with Akkineni and Samantha's performance in particular receiving praise. It became the highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, and was remade in Kannada as Ganda Hendathi starring Shiva Rajkumar.

Rangasthalam  is a movie that needs to be seen. You won’t find a better balance of drama and comedy, or a better balance of plot and performances. And what about the technical aspects? The cinematography is beautiful.

The production design is flawless. The costumes are stunning. The sound design is excellent. The editing is perfect. And the direction is the kind of stuff legends are made of. I loved watching this movie. I loved the whole experience.

The ultimate B-movie – Rangasthalam – starring Ram Charan in the lead role has finally been released in the theatres. The movie directed by Sukumar has turned out to be a masterpiece of cinema with powerful performances by the cast.

Story Rangasthalam begins with Ram Charan in a small village as the village president. Chitti Babu is the silent, solid brother of Ram Charan, whose entire family have been living in poverty for generations.

Chitti Babu is respected by the people for his honesty, patience and kindness to others. Ram Charan's father is a drunkard and he, and his sister are living in poverty after losing all the property.

Ram Charan has the perfect opportunity to take over the village from his dad and uses the opportunity to do just that.

    Storyline

    Rangasthalam Movie Storyline

A violent crackdown by the village president against the newly-wed couple in his village is followed by a violent retaliation by Chitti Babu and his friends. Little did he suspect that this retaliation would prove to be the death knell for his elder brother Ramadhir.

What follows is Ramadhir's agonizing ordeal and untimely death at the hands of the village president. I won't say much about the story of Rangasthalam as the summary given above is more than enough to do justice to the way the movie is presented.

You need to watch it to experience the essence of the film, it is worth it. The film moves at a quick pace right from the first scene and the screenplay is nicely crafted to entertain without being taxing.

Cast: Ram Charan, Samantha Akkineni, Jagapathi Babu Director: Sukumar Genre: Action, Drama, Satire, Romance Storyline There is a clear divide between a temple dancer and her peasant husband – a farmer. However, a major portion of the narrative isn't concentrated on the farmer.

The farmer's daughter, on the other hand, enters the scene with the story unfolding. Ram Charan plays Chitti Babu – a person living in a small village on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Chitti Babu is a happy-go-lucky person who idolizes his brother's success.

Chitti Babu belongs to a poor family, which runs a small grocery shop and does odd jobs for their landlord. Rangasthalam 1985, a remake of the hugely popular 1978 film, tells the story of the farmer and his wife, Rama Devi.

    The music

It's become a tradition now for Ram Charan to score a phenomenal chartbuster on a Friday which rarely fails to excite the listeners. Rangasthalam 1985 doesn't fail to entertain, and while a few moments, especially in the second half, are the product of over-the-top sentiments, the film rises to another level with each of the songs.

Rangasthalam 1985 has 15 songs and most of them are worth a listen. High on energy, emotional and epic are the words that come to mind when you hear the title track of the film. The only drawback is that the beats seem to be designed to blast the listeners to action but at times it comes across as a bit over-the-top.

The music and the background score have been composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The lyrics by S Harinarayanan, R. N.

    The cinematography

Rangasthalam 1985 takes the viewers on a virtual roller-coaster ride and in the process, one also gets to see another layer of Devdas. The cinematography is simply mind-blowing and it gives us goosebumps when the on-screen characters see a house burning down.

The music Karthik Subbaraj has scored the songs perfectly and one can see each and every scene as if it were happening live. Rangasthalam 1985 is the biggest song-rich film this year and the songs set the mood of the story and leave you mesmerised.

The storyline Chitti Babu is an orphan brought up by his uncle and cousin. He goes back to his village to attend to his parent's wishes as his village president.

    The story

In Rangasthalam 1985, Chitti Babu aka Ram Charan plays a small-time hustler named Ramu, who dreams of winning back his family's land from his enemies. But things get complicated when he bumps into Chitti Babu's daughter, the girl he has a crush on.

When he brings his two friends into his family's profession to strengthen their odds in their quest to land the hand of Chitti Babu's granddaughter, the stakes get higher. The Producers' Plan After directing two back-to-back multi-starrers — Dhruva and Khaidi No 150 — director Sukumar was supposed to make another film with Ram Charan in the lead.

Sukumar had previously planned to make a film on 1982's infamous bus accident in Andhra Pradesh, where over thirty-four students had died, but the project did not materialise.

As the film opens, Chitti Babu's elder brother welcomes him to their village by putting on the high political authority's wig, asking him to put it on. Chitti Babu hesitantly puts it on, while the villagers cheer loudly in a buzzed excited manner.

This sets Chitti Babu's obsession with the village president in motion. A Narrow Path to Success The only job Chitti Babu can get is as a collector, where he has a crowbar, locks up one house, then informs the owner that his keys have been stolen and informs the owner about his own fault in the theft.

There are other similarities in Chitti Babu's life with Ram Gopal Verma's Ram Gopal Verma's Rangeela Raja. Chitti Babu is also described by his cousin as Ram Gopal's version of Captain Cockpit (Raja).

Why Chitti Babu's Brother Is A Threat

Why Chitti Babu's Brother Is A Threat
Why Chitti Babu's Brother Is A Threat

The primary reason is that Chitti Babu's elder brother Ramanna Babu (Murali Sharma) does not approve of the job they have taken up for a lot of money. He believes that the competition is way too tough and they are just wasting their time.

He even questions their methods and openly questions their capabilities as promised by their manager Mahalakshmi (Soundarya). His warnings have an immediate effect and they end up getting killed one by one. What is Ramanna Babu hiding?

Ramanna Babu wants to buy their village from its present owners. But the owner Panchayat Kavitha (Ramya Krishnan), whom the village owes money to, is not keen on handing the money over without providing some privileges in return.

    The Murder

Chitti Babu (Ram Charan) is a chauffeur living with his brother Doss (Jagapathi Babu) and sister-in-law Radha (Kavitha). He finds out that they're being financially exploited by their village president Dushyanth (Chiranjeevi), who is upset about their late father's decision to shift the village's industrial zone from the village.

Dushyanth's motive is simple: he wants to steal the wealth of Chitti Babu's house. At first, Chitti Babu refuses to believe him, but when he hears the fatal story of a car accident, he realizes that there could be an inside connection.

And while he and his men are travelling back to his home to investigate, they are stopped by another group of men, who are apparently the president's henchmen.

    Conclusion

Rangasthalam (2021) is a must watch for the audience of both Telugu cinema and commercial mass entertainers. It boasts of a potent combination of heartfelt performances from the cast coupled with high-octane action sequences, memorable twists and hilarious one-liners.

Kudos to Ravi Kiran, Chitti Babu and the entire technical team for delivering yet another brilliant film. Go for it!
