Is it Possible To See All Indian Superheroes In One Movie Together Like Marvel And DC? |
Marvel and DC have both had great success with their superhero movies. But we Indians are deprived of such movies. Why is that? Are Indian superheroes even as popular as Marvel or DC superheroes?
And if not, why are they not as popular? Are they not as good? Are they simply not as popular? If they are not as popular, then can they be more popular?
I have been wondering since Marvel and DC are making their own movies, which is better, if there could be a Marvel or DC equivalent for Indian superheroes.
The idea of seeing all Indian superheroes in a single movie has been on my mind for a long time now, and I think it’s time to make it a reality. So, is it possible?
The Indian film industry is booming, with the number of films produced doubling from 220 in 2013 to 440 in 2017. But, as you can imagine, with so many movies coming out each year.
We haven’t really had the chance to see our favorite Indian superheroes on the big screen like Marvel or DC superheroes. The initial plans of creating a Marvel-like cinematic universe where superheroes would interact with one another was first announced in 2014. But the project doesn’t seem to be going as planned.
But is it possible to have a Marvel-like crossover of all Indian superheroes in a single movie?
Why is it difficult to see all Indian superheroes in one movie?
Issues like script, distribution, timing are major issues that the heroes face before getting a movie released. While dealing with the challenges, some superhero movies are released in multiple languages.
The recent super hit movie Dangal by Aamir Khan crossed the 5 million dollar mark in China and created records. The movie had the English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions.
The Dangal team has also spoken about the same. Aamir Khan said, "I hope the Hindi audience appreciate the work of the film as much as the other languages have enjoyed.
Maybe when people watch it, it will create more awareness and work for the other languages also. We think the Dangal team is right.
Why Indian superheroes don't exist?
Marvel Entertainment Because of the bad PR they get for dating each other in the movies and breaking up in real life. What is the Love like between the characters?
A study by the University of Washington found that of all of the high-profile celebrities that had broken up, superheroes including Batman, Superman and Spiderman were the most likely to remain friends and get back together.
20th Century Fox For example, they were also more likely to choose the same sex partner for romantic partners than the average American. So, in general, we can conclude that we will probably see all of the superheroes together one day in future. But it will probably be a few decades from now.
What Indian superheroes should be created?
We at Studio 360 discussed this in our podcast and in our Facebook group. I think it's just as possible to make a universe like this for Indian superheroes in Indian theaters like Hollywood does.
First I'd say we should make many movies that everyone gets to know about like Bollywood movies. We can come up with some great stories and have our superheroes fight a myriad of villains.
If we put a similar production model to Marvel, you'd get a multi-film series. I think that Indian audiences would definitely pay to see it in theaters. With a YouTube series or a podcast there will always be social media discussions to follow up on.
So that's what we would like to do here at this platform. I think that with a team like this we can make this a reality.
Conclusion
After initial (0.5) attempts, it becomes hard to do a proper analysis and begin formulating a cohesive thesis. We are of the opinion that there is a long way to go before we reach a stage where a qualified study on the subject of Comics vs Movies can be done.
